Microsoft Edge, the Windows maker’s web browser, is now officially available for download on Android tablets and Apple iPad.
The browser was available in preview on both platforms since October last year.
“What makes Microsoft Edge really stand out is the ability to continue on your PC, allowing you to open a web page from your phone right on to your PC,” Microsoft said in a statement on Monday.
The browser boasts an elegant interface and includes features like Favourites, New Tab Page, Reading List, Roaming Passwords and Reading View, Password sync and ePub support.
It also features “continue on your PC”, which allows the users to open a web page from their phone on their computer.
Following the official release, Microsoft has removed the preview label from Android app and iOS.
The users can also change the default light theme to a darker one.
Edge is available for free on Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.
The browser was released along with Windows 10, as a successor of Internet Explorer in July 2015.

The company said it is thankful to its “hundreds of thousands” of users who used the app over the last few months.
“Your ideas and passion have contributed to an even better app experience,” the company stated.
Earlier this month, Microsoft had announced the links in Microsoft Mail have been forced to open in Edge, regardless of what browser the users have set in default. The feature is rolling out to the current version of Windows 10.
“We will begin testing a change where links clicked on within the Windows Mail app will open in Microsoft Edge, which provides the best, most secure and consistent experience on Windows 10 and across your devices,” the company said of the change.
“Microsoft Edge enables you to be more productive, organized and creative without sacrificing your battery life or security.”
According to StatCounter, Edge has been installed on 36 percent desktop computers but is only used by 4 percent users.
Google Chrome is the most popular browser with a share of 67.5 percent users, followed by Firefox with 11.5 percent users.
Internet Explorer is used by 6.9 percent of computer users.
