Android claimed around 79 percent of smartphone market share in 2013, according to Strategy Analytics.
It was an increase of 9.1 percent over its market share in 2012, but yet the company’s slowest annual growth rate since its birth in 2008.
Apple, despite shipping more phones in 2013, had a 15.5 percent market share, down from 19.4 percent in the previous year.
The sales of Windows phone increased, with OS claiming 3.6 percent share, up from 2.7 percent in 2012.
