A massive ransomware cyber-attack, apparently linked to a flaw exposed in documents leaked from United States’ National Security Agency (NSA), spread to dozens of countries across the world on Friday.
Ransomware is a technique in which the attacker locks the files and demands a ransom payment for the decryption key.
According to Kaspersky researcher Costin Raiu, there were around 45,000 attacks recorded in 74 countries.
