Amazon has decided to withdraw Apple and Google video-streaming devices from its website in a bid to boost the sales of its own Prime Instant Video streaming service.
Prime Video, launched back in 2009, has become an integral part of online retailer’s Prime membership program, which costs $99 annually.
“It’s important that the streaming media players we sell interact well with Prime Video in order to avoid customer confusion,” Amazon said in a statement on Friday.
Apple and Google did not immediately respond to comment on the matter.
