Samsung on Friday confirmed that it has suspended the sales and permanently discontinued the production of its Galaxy Note 7 after dozens of reports of the device overheating and exploding.
The South Korean electronics giant has announced to withdraw the £739 device just two weeks after its release.
“We have received several reports of battery explosions on the Note 7… and it has been confirmed that it was a battery cell problem,” Koh Dong-jin, president of Samsung’s mobile business, said.
