Loss from Cybercrime Exceeded $1.3 Billion in U.S in 2016: FBI

Cybercrime caused a loss of more than $1.3 billion to the businesses and organizations in United States in 2016, the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has revealed in its new report.

The total cost of cybercrime in US is estimated to be nine million.

Business email compromise (BEC), tech support fraud and ransom ware were the most common types of the attacks in the last year.

Top three crimes reported to the IC3 were personal data breach, non-payment and nondelivery in 2016.
